Thanks Linda for the Chicken soup recipe - it went down a treat having failed with all other foodstuffs offered including baby food. Hopefully Sen will gain strength and weight again over the coming days. Will let you know how the test results for insulinoma and possible adrenal gland disease goes. Get results back on Saturday for all tests. Im feeding her little and often for now instead of ad lib (what she was accustomed to) and she is drinking.

Hi Steve & Linda. Just wanted to express our sincere thanks for the talk and hands-on training you gave to our five trainee wildlife rescue responders on Sunday. They all found the experience to be very useful and I am sure when they get called out to stoat, weasel, mink, etc they will be more confident in how to handle the animal safely. Thanks again and keep up the good work. www.swrt.ik.com

I am a latecomer to the charms and joys of keeping ferrets!! since I discovered them and the terrible conditions. I have found them in and the lack of respect shown to them in Scotland by so-called humans. I have made it my business to rehome these unwanted darlings. Why oh why do people insist on allowing them to breed indiscriminately when all thats needed for ferreting purposes (if that's what u r in to) are two ferrets! When I took my ferret 'Fang' to the vet to see to her teeth he said that in all his time as a vet no one had ever brought him in a ferret to be looked at! We must promote these wonderful creatures as suitable pets to re-home and keep and worthy of decent conditions. And the benefits? Well I've noticed that when i've intrroduced ferrets to young people considered to be anti-social the young people start to respond positively to me and other adults. When my son choose a ferret as a pet he was being bullied at school and was depressed. He had a remarkable posivite mood change and an increase in coping strategies when he got his ferret and started to train it? You may say that this would happen when building a relationship with any animal but we already had two dogs in the family? i have since researched this and found that yes there is evidence to back my story linked to the type of primative way ferrets move (like the relaxation associated with the way fish move). My son is now at Uni and I've continued being the custodian of many ferrets in need of love. They have repaid me over and over. Thanks for ur site.

Hey. my wee ferret had an unplanned litter this year and ended up having 10 BABIES!!!!! (nearly fainted) but we found homes for them all,and recommended that they all be neutered. The last baby went to a new home with her mum and i am left ferret-less and completely at a loose end on what to do in my spare time!! what DO you do when u get home at night and there is no ferret? (trying not to boredom-eat!! lol)

We would like to find out how 'Freddy' the ferret is doing after being found on the farm road at Montgoldrum, Arbuthnott? My 8 year old daughter fell in love with him and often speaks about him. We would love it if you could let us know how he is! (Nina brought him in)

just found your site via freecycle.. and after years of adoring ferrets from afar due to a nasty bite as a teen.. reading your stories i am now aware that most are actualy very loving and interactive furries.. and i am now going to make the effort to reaquant myself with them

Lol i love your site,Your lil' ones are beyond adorable!! I'm permertantly relocating to dundee soon from california and it's been an nightmare finding info let along ferrets in the uk online. It's really cool that you have an shelter like this for them as well (and it was right in the same town too,Doh! lol ok i had an blonde moment i couldnt find you guys)..coming from california where its againest the law to own the lil speed racers you see first hand what happens to ferrets that cant be homed. I use to volunteer at the local animal shelter in san diego and when ferrets were found by cops if the owners couldnt find homes for them outside of the state the lil guys were put to sleep. And having been a ferret owner for the last ten years that always broke my heart. Tho califorians are still to this day fighting to reverse the law, we still have to hide our lil ones from the public's eye. But i have to give you props on the work you've done its amazing and honestly makes me homesick for ferrets. You can count on me for adopting one from you after i'm settled here for good. My last ferret sadly passed away last fall she was 9 years old and just passed away in here sleep. I miss her dearly and as any ferret owner knows i'll have to get another one soon as possible. An house isnt an home without an ferret at the door waiting to dook with you and give you kisses when you get home! Keep up the great work and Take Care...

Hi Steve, just letting you know that Stan & Ollie - renamed Donder & Blitzen go in this wednesday to my local vets for castration. They have settled in really well with Willow & Bracken (the 2 hobs I got from year 2 years ago). Your website is coming along a treat - nice to see additional info added :-)

Was just browsing and came across your site. Very impressive. I wish you all the luck . We adopted 2 albino ferrets this year from the SSPCA. I AGREE whole heartedly about being 110% sure. We have spayed our female and neutered our male . It helps with the odour and females are prone to get heart attacks if not done. Beyond that IF a ferret is for you they bring nothing but laughter and joy. We love Pouncer and Chance. And YES our ferrets actually play with our MinPin daily . They get along with dogs so well. Anyway all the best until I drop by again in the future !!! Lina

Hi Steve, good luck with your new venture. "Willow" and "Bracken" are doing away fine. I had to have them castrated as they were really aggressive - certainly helped, I can handle them without them attacking me and they are the best of friends. My new additions are "Dakota" (from Helena), "Honey" (from local vet) and "Fern" (originally named "Dizzy" from petterden)
